Vincenzo was at Iris Digital for a short period of three days. They required a Drupal 7 expert to urgently fix their performance problems.
Highlights
- Successfully rewritten the Views Query that was creating problems, by using the hook_views_pre_render;
- Successfully managed to make Views use a LIMIT/OFFSET query;
- After the first two achievements, the time spent by Views to show one page of the results went from more than 2 secs to 0.11-0.20 secs;
- Wrote a new Views pager based on Views Litepager;
- Finished the consultancy with a document entitled Drupal hosting and performance guidelines which contained a set of recommendations about the best practice for high end Drupal hosting and performance optimisations.
